Do I need to take the TEAs test for admissions?

  • No, at this time the TEAs test is not required for admission to the ABSN program

What are the prerequisites for the Accelerated Bachelors of Science in nursing program?

  • Anatomy and Physiology I and II with lab, Microbiology with a lab, General Chemistry with a lab, Statistics and Developmental Psychology.

Do I need to have a certain grade in prerequisites in order to be considered for admission?

  • Yes, a minimum of B- is required in all prerequisite courses.

Are online courses acceptable for meeting the prerequisite requirements?

  • Online science courses that include a lab component are not acceptable.  If you are unsure whether or not your prerequisites meet admission requirements, please contact the undergraduate admissions.

Is there a recency requirement for my science prerequisites?

  • No

What if my undergraduate degree was from a non-US college or university?

  • Applicants who are graduates from a non-US college or university are eligible to apply, if the following three conditions are met:  1. If your bachelor's degree is a non-US college or university must also complete the MASS Transfer Block at a Massachusetts Community College with the official stamped transcript on or before the start of Summer Session I (May) of the year in which you are enrolling.  2. Submit an official transcript documenting the award of a bachelor's degree.  3. All transcripts from institutions outside of the United States must have an approved agency's evaluation of courses, grades, academic degrees, and grade point averages.  Approved agencies include the Center for Educational Documentation, World Education Services, inc., North American Educational Group or Educational Credential Evaluators. 

What if I have a non-US High School Diploma?

  • Verification for any non-U.S. based secondary education must be validated by an approved agency. Four approved agencies include the Center for Educational Documentation, World Education Service, North American Educational Group or Educational Credential Evaluators.

Can I work while I am enrolled in the ABSN program?

  • The program is a fast-paced, full-time program and it is recommended that you do not work while you are enrolled in the program.  

What is the length of the program?

  • Plan on being in classes for 16 months.  The program runs over two summers, and for a fall and spring semester.

How do I submit an application to the ABSN program?

  • To apply for the program you will need to select undergraduate application, application type: second undergraduate degree (prior bachelors), request to enroll: through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (evenings and/or summers) and select major/program: Nursing, Accelerated BSN (must have a completed BS/BA).
