Salem State University participates in the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Program. Students who complete AP courses in high school may earn college credit based on their AP exam scores.
Credit is generally awarded for scores of 3, 4, or 5, subject to academic department review and approval. Credit is not granted for scores of 1 or 2.
Incoming first-year students should designate Salem State University as a score recipient when registering for AP exams. AP scores are typically received in July and processed upon receipt.
Transfer students must submit official AP score reports within their first semester of enrollment to be considered for AP credit.
If Salem State University was not listed as a score recipient at the time of testing, students must request score reports directly from the College Board at:

Students may view awarded AP credit in Navigator by selecting My Academics and then View My Transfer Credit Report. Questions about AP credit should be directed to your academic advisor or Transfer Services.
