If you received a Pell Grant as part of your financial aid package, you can receive a Bluebikes discount through the Income-Eligible Membership program.
Program Information
The Income-Eligible Program provides discounted memberships to people who meet the income guidelines.
The Income-Eligible Annual Membership cost for Boston residents is $5/year as part of a program provided by the City of Boston.
For non-city of Boston residents, the cost is $5/month or $50/year.
Members get unlimited 60-minute classic bike rides, reduced ebike rates—and a whole lot more. After 60 minutes, there’s an additional fee of $0.07 per minute for classic bikes. Ebike rides cost $0.07/minute.

Enrollment Requirements
- Members must be 16 or older
- Members must provide a credit, debit, or prepaid card
- Members must submit documentation with the application. All documentation must be issued within the past two years.

Students who receive a Pell Grant must include a copy of their financial aid award letter that shows their Pell Grant award.
- When students are awarded financial aid, they receive an email containing a copy of their financial aid award letter. If you are unable to locate a copy of your award letter, please contact the Student Navigation Center.
