Any media device that can be plugged into an Ethernet port is supported. While these devices (e.g. Roku Ultra, and AppleTV) are more expensive than their wireless counterparts, they will always provide a more stable viewing experience and we recommend them over a wireless solution. However, we are happy to now support many wireless streaming devices (e.g. Roku, and Amazon Firestick). Unfortunately, due to the unique method by which Google Chromecasts connect to wireless networks, at this time they are not supported.
To register your device, please visit the registration page from a web-enabled device that is currently connected to the Salem State network.
Additionally, your Xbox or Playstation can also be used to stream movies.
Casting or screen-sharing (e.g. from your laptop to a Rokor Chromecast) is not supported at this time. We also do not support IoT, streaming devices or game consoles in university buildings other than the residence halls.
