First-Year Advisory Board (FAB)

What is the First-Year Advisory Board?

The First-Year Advisory Board (known as FAB) is a student group acting as the voice of the first-year student Class of 2028.

What does FAB do?

The board coordinates social activities for the Class of 2028 to come together and meet one another, organizes community service projects, and provides feedback to the administration regarding the experiences and concerns of first-year students.  Each year FAB presents recommendations to the First Year Experience office regarding what could improve the first year experience for new students.

How do you get involved in FAB?

Participation on the board is limited to first-year (freshman) students.  All first-year students are welcome to join and participate as general members however there are a limited number of voting positions (coordinators or members-at-large).

Formal positions include:
  • General Board Member

  • Executive Coordinator

  • Coordinator of Marketing and Social Media

  • Coordinator of Advocacy Efforts

  • Coordinator of Programming

How often does FAB meet?

The board meets once or twice a month so the time commitment is minimal.  Students who serve as coordinators will have one additional meeting a month.  FAB is a great way to get involved your first year of college without taking on too many responsibilities.
