Each semester before enrolling in a class, as a graduate student in a non-degree program, you must first declare your intention. Please see the directions below on how to remove this hold.
NOTE: Most graduate programs limit the number of credits you may take prior to being admitted into the program. Students taking courses for general interest or professional development purposes do not have these limitations.
How to- Complete Intention of Non-Degree Path Graduate Student (PDF Version)
1. Log into Navigator.
2. Once at the Student Homepage, click on "Tasks".
3. The page should default to your "To Do List" where you will click on "Intention of Non-Degree Path Graduate Student", found under the heading "Task".
4. Please read the information provided on declaring your intention for your next semester before registering for classes. Then, select one of the three radio buttons provided that will indicate your future plans. The radio button options are listed below:
- I intend to apply or am in the process of applying for a graduate program at Salem State University.
- I do not intend to apply for a graduate program at Salem State University and am taking graduate courses for reasons of professional development or licenser renewal.
- I do not intend to apply for a graduate program at Salem State University and am taking graduate courses for general interest.
5. Below the radio button options, read the information provided on the graduate school policies. Check the box next to the statement to agree.
6. Click the "Ok" button in the pop-up window. Then, click "Next" located in the top-right hand corner of the page.
7. Click the "Submit" button in the top right-hand corner of the page to finish and remove your hold.
