Emergency Information
Notice will be sent electronically to students and employees via SSU Alerts. Sign up for notifications or change your contact information in SSU Alerts:
Students:
1. Log into Navigator.
2. Once at the Student Homepage, click on "Profile".
3. On the menu on the left-hand side of the page, click on "Contact Details".
To receive email notifications, follow steps 4-7. To receive SMS notifications, follow steps 8-10.
4. Email: Under the heading "Contact Details", click on the "+" button under "Email".
5. In the pop-up window, in the drop down menu next to *Type select the email type.
6. Within the same pop-up window, type in the email that you would like emergency notifications to be sent to in the box next to *Email.
7. You may indicate if this is your preferred email by clicking the check box next to "Preferred". Then, click "Save" in the top right-hand corner of the pop up window.
8. SMS: Click the "Add Phone" button found under the heading "Phone".
9. In the pop-up window, click on the drop down menu next to *Type and select the type of phone number you are providing.
10. Enter your phone number in the box next to *Phone Number. Then, click "Save" in the top right-hand corner of the pop-up window.
How to- Receive campus emergency notifications (PDF Version)
Faculty & Staff:
1. Log into Polaris.
2. In the Search box, enter “Emergency Alert Information” to add or edit the phone number(s) listed.
Or, click on the profile icon in the header , then click the Emergency Notification link in the left-side menu.
