How to- View What-if Report

Solution

The "What-if Report" can be used to set up and request a simulated or "what-if" advisement report based on alternate programs of study. To create your own custom report, follow the directions below.

How to- View What-If Report (PDF Version)

1. Log into Navigator.

2. On the Student Homepage, click on "Academic Progress".

3. On the menu on the left-hand side of the page, click on "View What-if Report".

4. Click on the button, "Create New Report".

5. On the page "What-if Report Scenario", there will be a chart found under "Career Scenario". Your career program should already be pre-filled (i.e. undergraduate). Within the same chart in the drop-down menu found under "Catalog Year", please select the semester that you would like to view the report for.

6. Under the heading "Program Scenario", you may enter your Academic Program, Area of Study, and Concentration in the respective drop-down menus under each heading.

7. Under the heading "Course Scenario", you may click on the "Browse Course Catalog" link to select courses for inclusion in your what-if scenario.

If you choose to include specific courses in your what-if report, please follow Steps 7-9. If you do not use this option, proceed to Step 11 after clicking "Submit Request" found in the bottom right-hand corner under the charts.

8. After clicking on "Browse Course Catalog", you may find the subject of the course you are searching for listed alphabetically. Click on the letter of the alphabet in the box provided that corresponds with the course you are searching for (i.e. A for Accounting)

9. You may click on the course name to read course details and descriptions. After finding the information you need, click on the link that reads "Return to Select Course for What-if Scenario" found under the heading "Course Detail", or in a second location found under the course description.

10. Once you find the course you would like to include in the scenario, please click on the "Select" button to the right of the course.

11. After selecting the course, the page should default back to the "What-If Report Scenario" page. From here, you will click on "Submit Request" located to the bottom right-hand side under the charts.

12. A Degree Tracker Report will be generated of the different scenarios that were entered. If you are unsure of how to read the report, please visit our page on how-to view a degree tracker.
