Online Tutoring from the Writing Center

The Mary G. Walsh Writing Center is offering a full schedule of remote appointments.

ETutoring remote appointments allow students to upload their assignments for a tutor's review and comment.

Online tutoring is as close as you can come to a having session in the Writing Center without being here in person. It includes a chat function that allows you and the writer to look at, make marks on, and chat about a document simultaneously. There are optional video and audio functions, too, like those you’d find in Skype, which allow you and the writer to have a genuine discussion.

Never used the Writing Center before? Follow these steps to register:

1. Begin by going to https://salemstate.mywconline.com/, or by going to the main Salem State University page and searching for Writing Center.

2. The first hit you get should be for the Mary G. Walsh Writing Center: Click on the link, then scroll down to the bottom right of the page and click on the Make an Appointment link.

3. The page that appears can be used to create an account, or, if you already have an account, to log in and make an appointment. Click on register for an account.

4. Fill out all the required fields (indicated with an *). We suggest, but do not require, that you use your Salem State email addresses. Once you have clicked Complete registration, the system will return you to the log-in page. You’re ready to log in and make an appointment!
