Password Reset - Self Service Link


If you are using this self-service link for the first time, you will need to register your verification method info to reset your own password. Once registered, this will allow you to reset your password at any time without the need to contact ITS. Follow the instructions on this page to set up your password reset verification method. You will need to provide an alternate email address or a telephone number.

Students, Faculty and Staff: Password Reset Self-Service Instructions

  • If you haven't already done so, register for self-service password reset.
  • Browse to Microsoft self-service password reset (Get back into your account).
  • In the "Email or Username" box, enter your email address:
    • Examples
      • Student:
      • Faculty or staff:
      • Student employee:
      • Contractor:
  • Enter your new password (see password rules below).

Password Rules:

Passwords are case-sensitive.

To successfully satisfy all the requirements, a password:

  • must be between 14 and 64 characters long.
  • must contain at least one character from three of the following categories:
    • Uppercase letters (A - Z)
    • Lowercase letters (a - z)
    • Numbers (0 - 9)
    • Special characters (! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - _ = + \ | ] } [ { ; : / ? . > <)
  • may not contain three or more consecutive characters present in your full name. (For example, if your name is John Smith, your password may not contain: joh, ohn, smi, mit, or ith).
