Students can choose whether to register at their campus address or at home. However, they can only be registered and vote in one location. The Berry IOP highly recommends that students living on campus register to vote on campus so you can vote right here in Salem at the Enterprise Center on Harrington Central Campus.

Below are the steps to register to vote on campus and samples of the filled in forms.

  2. Answer the prompts.

Important to Note

On-campus addresses are formatted by the Salem City Clerk’s office as follows: “0 SALEM STATE – RESIDENCE HALL, SALEM, MA, 01970.” Fill in the “address where you live now” section using that format. Under the “address where you receive all your mail” section, write your mailing address as given to you by Salem State. This is the address where you may receive Vote-by-Mail information. For example: Residence Hall, 1 Loring Ave, Salem, MA 01970.

First-time voters may be asked for a form of ID at the polls in order to prove their address. The CCE canvasses outside the polling location every Election Day with Proof of Campus Address letters for students who may need them.
