Students in Massachusetts can choose whether to register at their campus address or at home. However, they can only be registered and vote in one location. If a student is currently registered to vote on campus but is now living off-campus or wants to vote in their local city elections, they must re-register to vote at their current residential address.
Register Online
Go to https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr/ and select Elections and Voting → Online Voter Registration. Before getting to the form, the site will ask if you a) are over the age of 16, b) a U.S. Citizen, and c) have an ID issued by the RMV.
Register by Mail
Go to https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr/ and select Elections and Voting → Mail-in Registration Form. You can download and print a registration form. This form allows you to use either your RMV ID number or the last four digits of your Social Security Number to register.
