Spring 2021 Student Safety Requirements

In order to continue to keep Salem State safe, we’re asking students to follow these guidelines before returning to campus and during the spring semester.

Residential Students

Prior to Spring Semester

Start of Spring Semester

Weekly

  • Report your symptoms every day using the CoVerified app.

  • Schedule your required weekly COVID-19 testing appointment. Failure to complete your testing requirement will result in a restricted badge on CoVerified that will only be cleared once you get tested.

  • If at any time you become symptomatic or exposed, immediately self-isolate and contact CHS at 978.542.6413 and they will provide guidance, telehealth and additional COVID testing.

In-Person Commuter Students

Prior to Spring Semester

Start of Spring Semester

  • Schedule a COVID-19 test the first week of in-person classes and will participate in the compliance check at that time. This is required.
  • You will be asked to display your CoVerified cleared badge to access certain on-campus spaces (including classrooms) so remember to check your symptoms every day you’re on campus.

During the Semester

  • Schedule a weekly testing appointment, as required. Failure to complete your testing requirement will result in a restricted badge on CoVerified that will only be cleared once you get tested.
  • If at any time you become symptomatic or exposed, immediately self-isolate and call CHS for more guidance.

Remote Commuter Students

Prior to Spring Semester

Complete the Compass Canvas Health and Safety course and pass the quiz prior to any visit to campus.

When Spring Semester Begins

  • Taking the Canvas COVID-19 refresher course is recommended, especially if you plan to access any on campus services or activities (such as the library).
  • Download the CoVerified app and put yourself into REMOTE status if you do not plan to be on campus within the next 14 days. You can take yourself out of remote status anytime you do come to campus.
  • Any time you come to campus, report your symptoms within your CoVerified app and schedule a COVID-19 test.
  • If you are exposed or test positive for COVID during the semester contact counseling and health services at 978.542.6413 for support.
