SPSS Recommendations
Methods to access SPSS from the Apps Anywhere platform
- SPSS can be accessed from within the Windows Desktop (recommended).
- SPSS can be launched as an individual application.
- There are reported issues with this mode when accessed from an IGEL thin client. See known issues section below.
Launching SPSS from within the Windows Desktop is recommended for several reasons:
- It's easier to save an output to the desktop or USB using this method.
- It's easier to upload files to OneDrive via a browser.
- Accessing other applications from within the Windows Desktop is quicker than launching individual application sessions.
- From a technical perspective, this particular application performs better when accessed from the Windows Desktop.
Idle Time Consideration
- When running data sets, it's important to understand that your session will disconnect after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- In the event that your session is disconnected due to inactivity, you will be able to reconnect to your session within two hours.
- After the two-hour window, you will not be able to reconnect to your session.
Reporting Issues
- Please report all issues to the ITS helpdesk and provide as much information as possible. ITS will review all feedback and make changes or optimizations if possible.
- Detailed descriptions, screenshots, or photos of an error or glitch will be extremely helpful in diagnosing issues.
