Frequently Asked Question

What is the O-Team?

Answer

The O-Team (or Opening Team) is a group of upper-class student leaders who assist in welcoming the first-year students to campus at the start of the year.

Students selected to be a part of the O-Team by the First Year Experience Office move into the residence halls early (if they are residential students), assist in coordinating the First Year Day of Service, Convocation, First Year Reading Experience Discussion Groups, and other activities prior to classes beginning.

Students may apply to be part of the O-Team mid-spring semester.  A further description of the program as well as links for how to join can be found at www.salemstate.edu/o-team.  Students with questions about the program can contact the First Year Experience Office by emailing firstyear@salemstate.edu or calling 978.542.2618.
