The Financial Aid Office works diligently to award students promptly. Our office completes the awarding process on a rotating schedule based on student populations.
Incoming undergraduate students should submit their FAFSA by Salem State's Priority FAFSA deadline of February 15, 2026, to be eligible for institutional funds, such as grants and scholarships.
Students must frequently monitor their To-Do List for outstanding items that could delay their financial aid package.
The awarding process continues weekly, with some exceptions.
2026-2027 Expected Timelines
Students must meet the eligibility requirements for federal aid to be awarded on the timelines listed below. Timelines are subject to change.
Incoming Undergraduate Day Students
Incoming undergraduate first-year day students should expect to receive their financial aid package beginning in January 2026.
Incoming Undergraduate Transfer Day Students
Incoming undergraduate transfer day students should expect to receive their financial aid package beginning in February 2026.
Graduate Students and Evening Students
Evening students in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies and graduate students should expect to receive their financial aid package beginning in April 2026.
Returning Undergraduate Day Students
Returning undergraduate day students should expect to receive their financial aid package beginning in June 2026.
Returning students will only be packaged for financial aid if they have a complete file and no outstanding To-List Items that could delay their financial aid package.
