Do I have to take prerequisites before taking an upper level course?

Article

Yes.  Pre-requisites exist to ensure that students enrolling in upper-level courses have a foundational understanding of the course content.  However, in certain situations, special arrangements with a chairperson can be made. If a chairperson approves a student to enroll in a course without having completed the pre-requisites, that chairperson must give electronic permission overriding the pre-requisite(s) so that the student can self-register in Navigator.
