Frequently Asked Question
Answer
Counseling services offers free and confidential services to support students while they are in college and assist them with their mental health needs. All registered students are eligible to receive an initial assessment through our office, which may take one to three sessions. Based on a student’s needs, a student may be offered short-term individual counseling or a referral to one of our groups. These services are designed to help students experiencing stress, difficulty adjusting to college and other life changes, depression, anxiety, disordered eating, problems with alcohol or drugs, and many other concerns. We also work with students experiencing severe and persistent mental health issues to help stabilize them and connect them to resources in the community, including long-term counseling and psychiatry. To schedule an appointment call 978-542-6410. Most of the time students will be able to schedule an appointment within a week. If the situation is urgent please let us know.
