How to: Pay my bill

Students and authorized users are able to pay their student account bill online (e-payment) by credit/debit card or electronic check (ACH). Salem State’s online billing system is secure, and all payments are processed through the TouchNet payment gateway, which utilizes industry-leading security standards.

Payment methods:

  • e-check online (preferred method)
  • Credit/debit card: We accept all major credit cards. A 2.95% non-refundable service fee ($3 minimum fee) for domestic credit cards and 4.25% non-refundable service fee for international credit cards, will be assessed by our credit/debit card processor for credit/debit card payments.
  • Check (money order, bank check): Please print your eBill and send the payment coupon along with the check.  Alternatively, you could make an appointment to drop the check off at the Student Navigation Center.
  • Financial Aid
  • Interest-free monthly payment plan available through TouchNet Information Systems  

Important information regarding the bill:

To see a REAL-TIME view of your account, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into Navigator.
  2. On the Student Homepage, click on "Financial Account".
  3. On the menu bar on the left-hand side of the screen, click on "Student Accounts" and follow the link to access TouchNet.  You will always need to log into Navigator to access TouchNet.
  4. The main home page is now the "View Activity" section. 
  5. Select which semester you would like to view to see a real-time, itemized listing of your account activity. 

Make a Payment to my Payment Plan:

 Don't have a Payment Plan? Please skip to the next section entitled Make a Payment to my Bill. 

Please be sure that your pop-up blockers are disabled to access TouchNet.

  1. Log into Navigator.
  2. Once at the Student Homepage, click on "Financial Account".
  3. In the menu on the left-hand side of the screen, click on "Student Accounts".
  4. Follow the "Click Here" link to access TouchNet.
  5. In the menu bar at the top of the page, click on "Payment Plans".
  6. The page will default to the "Manage Plans" tab located under the heading "Payment Plans". Here, you are able to make individual payments or schedule payments.
  7. To pay or schedule a payment, click on the gear button. To make a payment that is less than the amount showing, on the next screen, you will have the chance to change the amount. If scheduling a payment, please make sure that you have already set up your payment profile from My Profile. You will need to schedule payments for each monthly installment of your plan.

Make certain each installment is set up for automatic payments to ensure plans are not canceled. If the payment plan is canceled, please contact the Student Navigation Center to see what options are available. Make a Payment to my Bill: 

  1. Log into Navigator.
  2. On the Student Homepage, click on "Financial Account".
  3. On the menu bar on the left-hand side of the screen, click on "Make a Payment" and follow the "Click Here" link to access TouchNet.
  4. When logging in for the first time each semester, you will need to acknowledge the university refund policy and be given an option to purchase tuition insurance. Proceed through those screens to continue. 
  5. Once in TouchNet, select the Home button on the gray toolbar to bring you to the mail home page. The Home button looks like a small white house to the left of the My Account button. 
  6. Select the button that says 'Make a Payment." 
  7. On the Account Payment page, Select “Current Account Balance” (to pay the balance due) or ‘Statement Account Amount’(to pay the amount on the most recent statement).
  8. You can edit the amount once you select an option.
  9. If you wish to pay an amount different than what you selected, you may enter that amount in the Student Account box and then click “Continue”. ­
  10. In the drop-down menu next to "Method", select the method in which you would like to pay. Then click "Continue".
  11. If paying via credit/debit card, please proceed to step 10. If paying via eCheck, please follow steps 8-9.
  12. eCheck: After clicking "Continue" in step 5, enter your account billing information on the Account Payment page. Then click "Continue". 
  13. Review the information you entered, agree to the terms of use, and submit your payment.
  14. Credit/ Debit card: After selecting credit/debit card as your payment method, please confirm your payment information and your selected payment method. Proceed to PayPath, our secure third-party payment servicer by clicking "Continue to PayPath" on the bottom right-hand side of the screen.
  15. Via credit/debit card: We accept all major credit cards. A 2.95% non-refundable service fee ($3 minimum fee) will be assessed by our credit/ debit card processor for credit/ debit card payments.
  16. Please again confirm the amount that you would like to pay through our PayPath Payment Service by reviewing the page and clicking "Continue" on the bottom right-hand side of the page.
  17. Read the information provided on the Payment Amount Information page, then click "Continue". 
  18. Enter your payment card information and billing address, then click "Continue".
  19. Review your previously entered payment information and billing address. Agree to the terms, and submit your payment.
