How to connect to your network drives using a Mac computer

Faculty, staff, and student employees will sometimes need to connect to shared drives, folders, and files on the Salem State Network.

How to connect to shared Salem State network drives using Mac OS.

To connect to the shared drive from off-campus you must sign in to the VPN first.

  1. On the Finder bar menu, select Go then Connect to Server.
  2. Enter the server address.
    1. For your personal folder: smb://bow/users/ssuUsername (ex: smb://bow/users/jdoe).
    2. For your department folder: smb://bow/deptshare/departmentname (ex: smb://bow/deptshare/biology).
  3. Click on Connect.
  4. Enter your name and password for the server "bow" (enter your Salem State username and password).
  5. The shared drive window will open.
